[Men's Tennis] Trio of Tennis Players named to USCAA National All-Academic Team

While their tennis careers might have ended in May for Williamson senior tennis players Chris Smith, John Coleman and Isaac Eshenour, the wards for the trio did not, as all three were recently named to the 2019 USCAA National All-Academic team.

Smith leaves Williamson as perhaps the finest tennis player, if not athlete, in school history.  He played First Singles for two seasons and played First Doubles all three seasons.  In 2018, he advanced to the semi-final round of the NJCAA Region Men's tennis tournament.  He is a three-time team co-MVP award winner in tennis and a three-time team MVP and three-time All ESSL selection in soccer.

A two-sport standout, Coleman is a four-time All -Academic team selection, earning the award twice for both soccer and tennis.  A three-year starter in tennis, he played Second Singles for two seasons and First Doubles for three seasons.  Along with Smith, he is a three-time team co-MVP in tennis.

Eshenour was a three-year starter in both cross country and tennis.  This past year, he was named the 2018 USCAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year, the highest honor bestowed upon a runner by the USCAA. 

In order to be considered for the award by the USCAA, a student-athlete must be a starter and a significant contributor to the team's success, in addition maintaining a Grade Point Average of 3.50. Williamson ended the 2018-19 school year with 15 USCAA All National Academic team members.
