Eugenie Bouchard risks Wimbledon Curse of Drake as tennis ace joins rapper at courtside to see his beloved Raptors lose NBA finals
EUGENIE BOUCHARD stunned courtside but saw her beloved Raptors lose in the NBA finals last night.
But the tennis beauty, 25, may have thrown any slim Wimbledon chances away by cheering alongside rapper Drake
The Canadian duo were hopeful of seeing their side win their first NBA championship and knew victory against the Golden State Warriors would secure an unassailable 4-1 lead.
Sergio Aguero, Conor McGregor, Jadon Sancho and most famously Anthony Joshua – who promised to “break the curse” against Andy Ruiz Jr – have all been victims.
And it has hit the tennis world before with Serena Williams suffering in 2015.
And Bouchard is surely now at risk of feeling the full force of that ‘curse’ when she heads to Wimbledon.
The world No78 is looking to put a wretched record at Grand Slams behind her when she hits the grass of SW19.
EUGENIE LOST HER GENIE
She reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open and French Open in 2014 before losing to Petra Kvitova in the Wimbledon final that year.
Despite getting to the quarters in Melbourne the following January, she has not gone beyond the third round in a major since the US Open in 2015 and was knocked out in the first round at Roland Garros last month.
Bouchard and Drake were spotted hugging at courtside at the Scotiabank Arena.
The Canadian headed to the big game alongside sister Celeste and golfer Michelle Wie.
But her evening ended in disappointment as Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson secured late three-pointers to keep the Warriors’ title chances alive.
