SLOANE STEPHENS is fast emerging as one of the brightest stars in women’s tennis.
The American, 25, has won six WTA titles and the US Open and will look to continue her rise when she faces Timea Babos in the Australian Open second round.
Who is Sloane Stephens dating?
AWAY from the tennis arena, Stephens is courting US international footballer Jozy Altidore.
The striker will be a familiar name to football fans over this side of the pond after his spells with Sunderland and Hull City.
Altidore infamously scored just three times in a two-year spell at the Stadium of Light, despite playing over 50 games for the Black Cats.
Since returning back over the Atlantic to the MLS, he’s found his shooting boots again and has 60 goals in four seasons for Toronto FC.
Despite Sloane and Altidore only going ‘Instagram official’ in June 2018, they have been dating since 2016.
And it turns out that the new power couple of US sports are actually childhood friends – and have known each other since they were in the fifth grade growing up Florida.
Altidore told USA Today: “She is somebody who gets everything I am going through without having to say anything.”
The centre-forward, 29, has 41 goals in 110 caps for the USA.
When did the American win the US Open?
STEPHENS lifted the US Open trophy in 2017, in what was her first Grand Slam final.
She beat Madison Keys 6-3, 6-0 in emphatic fashion to lift the title at Flushing Meadows.
In 2018, she reached her second Grand Slam final, facing Simona Halep at the French Open, but went down 6-3, 4-6, 1-6.
