[Men's Tennis] Steiner, Esposito Named NAIA All-Americans
MARION, Ind. – Eli Steiner and Grant Esposito represented Indiana Wesleyan University as the NAIA Men’s Tennis All-American honors were released by the national office. Seiner was named All-American Second Team and Esposito was recognized as All-American Honorable Mention.
Steiner becomes the second Wildcat player to ever be named to a top-two team in the All-American list, joining Jakub Petersson who was a First Team selection in 2003. Two Wildcats earning All-Americans in the same season is just the second occurrence in program history as Brandon Dubuque and Kyle Johnson accomplished the feat in 2014.
Steiner finished the season with a 19-7 mark in singles play with most of his matches coming in the No. 1 spot. He also went 20-14 at No. 1 doubles with a majority of his matches being played with Esposito and Grant Yager.
Esposito ended the 2018-19 season with a 25-2 mark in singles. He played the entire season at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. His doubles record was 26-8 with partners Steiner and Tyler Abbott.
Steiner and Esposito won the ITA Midwest Region Doubles championship and advanced to the Oracle Cup Championship.
