[Men's Tennis] Penner Receives Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District Recognition

WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University senior men's tennis student-athlete Isaac Penner (SR/Newton, Kan.) has been named to the Google Cloud College of Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District first team in the NAIA Men's At-Large division, the organization announced today (May 10).

As a first-team honoree, Penner advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, where first, second and third-team (if applicable) picks will be announced in June.

To qualify for this award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.30 grade-point-average and be at least a sophomore in athletic standing that participates in least 50 percent of their team's athletic contests.

"Isaac has been a leader on and off the tennis courts for the past four years while maintaining an almost perfect GPA," Friends head coach Alex Lee said.  "His team spirit during his matches are what I call "Unmatched".

Penner has been a mainstay for the Falcons as a four-year letterwinner in the program.

This season, Penner competed in the Falcons' #2 doubles team and also participated in singles competitions in helping the team to three KCAC wins, their most conference victories since the 2016 campaign.

A solid student-athlete, Penner was also an NAIA Scholar Athlete recipient last season.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
