Katie Boulter out of French Open and could miss Wimbledon due to back injury
KATIE BOULTER has been forced to pull out of this month’s French Open due to a back injury.
The 22-year-old, currently 92 in the World, has not played since April 21 when she helped Britain secure their place in the elite level of the Fed Cup for the first time in 26 years.
Boulter has not played since April 21, when she meat Zarina Diyas to seal a 3-1 victory over Kazakhstan.
During the Fed Cup, it was clear that Boulter was struggling in her first game but she came back less that 20 hours later to face her second opponent.
The British star was clearly in pain throughout the game and had to have water bottles on her back during changeovers.
The lingering back problem has now forced her to pull out of the French Open, which starts on May 26.

Boulter has been forced to cancel the whole clay court season and is already looking ahead to the rest of the tennis season.
It is also thought that Boulter could miss out on Wimbledon in June as well with the back problem worse than originally thought.
At the moment, Boutler is set to compete in June in the Nature Valley Open which includes stars such as Fed Cup winner and defending champion Ashleigh Barty.
Boulter was a quarter-finalist in Nottingham last year and is set to return to the tournament on Saturday, June 8.
