[Men's Tennis] Men's Tennis has three All-KCAC selections

Kansas Wesleyan men's tennis had three student-athletes earn spots on the All-KCAC Tennis teams as announced by the conference office as voted upon by the conference coaches.

Mario Rincon (SR/Bogota, Colombia) was named to the All-KCAC First Team, Michael Moody (SR/Midwest City, Okla.) was a Second Team selection and Felix Diaz (JR/La Guaira, Venezuela) was named Honorable Mention.

"These three are a coach's dream," Wesleyan head coach Josh Molino said of the trio's selection. "They're hard working, dedicated, loyal and most importantly coachable. This program is on the rise because of players like this who are great people of campus, leaders on the team and favorites in the community."

Rincon went 7-2 for the Coyotes in conference play at No. 1 singles including a straight set win over Southwestern's Franco Poi. He went 6-3 in doubles play during the conference season with partner Michael Moody.

"Mario has been outstanding all season long," Molino said. "He brings intensity and focus every time he steps on the court. He's fought for us all year long and set a standard for the No. 1 (flight) player here going forward.

"He is one of the few international players in any collegiate sport that stays loyal to one program, excels in all areas and graduates on time. I know his family is just as proud as we are."

Moody was 5-3 in conference play at No. 2 singles and won one match at No. 3 singles for the Coyotes this season. He was 6-3 in doubles play with playing partner Mario Rincon during the conference season as well.

"Michael is tremendous in all areas of a student-athlete," Molino said. "He is a guy that the team can count on and most importantly that I can count on. He's one of those that has earned everything he's accomplished and that makes him very dangerous. He's a guy we will really miss and are very proud he was a part of this program."

Diaz was 7-1 at the No. 3 singles position and 0-1 at the No. 2 position during conference play for the Coyotes, finishing conference play with a 7-2 record. Diaz and teammate Luis Soto (JR/Santo Domingo, Dominican Repub) were 7-2 in conference play.

"Felix is one of those irreplaceable members of a team," Molino said. "He's our big man and he stood tall for use all year long. He works his tail off, took 21 hours this spring to graduate early. He's going to be very successful in his next career move. We were lucky to have him."

Wesleyan went 6-3 in KCAC play this season and was the No. 3 seed in the KCAC Tournament. The Coyotes beat the Bethany Swedes 5-2 in the KCAC Quarterfinals, the first-ever men's tennis win over the Swedes, to advance to the KCAC Semifinals against 20th-ranked McPherson at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Kossover Tennis Complex in Topeka.
