[Men's Tennis] Men's Tennis Earns No. 1 Seed Despite Loss

Doane Men's Tennis dropped their regular season finale on Monday as Midland defeated the Tigers, 6-3. The loss dropped the Tigers into a three-way tie for the GPAC Championship. However, Doane snatched the No. 1 seed and a bye in the upcoming conference tournament by a tie-breaker. The Tigers were able to force the tie-break on the final match of the day as Elliott Abromeit (JR/Lawrence, Kan.) won at No. 6 singles in straight sets. Doane will take a 12-4 overall record into the conference tournament.

1. Ignacio Morell (SR/Madrid, Spain) lost to Salvador Almeida, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7)
2. Jorge Chevez (FR/Panama City, Panama) defeated Conrad Mascarenhas, 6-3, 6-2
3. Grayson McCartney (SR/Papillion, Neb.) lost to Jack Fryer, 6-2, 6-3
4. Alejandro Benitez (SR/Panama) lost to Jaime Olarieta, 6-2, 6-4
5. Arcane Boles (SR/Lincoln, Neb.) lost to Ryan Vitera, 6-2, 6-3
6. Elliott Abromeit defeated Dylan Hatanelas, 6-1, 6-2

Doubles
1. Chevez/McCartney defeated Mascarenhas/Enrique Del Rio, 8-4
2. Benitez/Boles lost to Fryer/Hatanelas, 8-6
3. Morell/Abromeit lost to Almeida/Vitera, 8-6
