[Men's Tennis] #13 Point Men's Tennis Beats #10 TWU, 6-3; Tied for First in AAC
ATHENS, Tenn. – Point University men's tennis (11-5; 4-0 AAC), ranked number 13 in the NAIA National Coaches' Top 25, moved into a first-place tie in the Appalachian Athletic Conference standings with number two-ranked Reinhardt University (12-0; 5-0 AAC) after its 6-3 AAC victory over number 10 ranked Tennessee Wesleyan University (10-4; 5-2 AAC), Saturday, April 6, in Athens, Tennessee. Point won its ninth consecutive match and has now defeated seven NAIA Top 25 teams this season. Point won two of the three doubles matches and the first three singles positions to clinch the win and added a win at number six singles for insurance. Coached by Chad Simpson (Fifth season), Point plays an AAC head-to-head match against Reinhardt, Tuesday, April 9, at the Valley (Ala.) Sportsplex and wraps up the conference schedule with a match at SCAD-Atlanta on Friday, April 12, at 1 p.m. SCAD-Atlanta is receiving votes for the Top 25.
