[Men's Tennis] Bees get CCAC win over Indiana South Bend
St. Ambrose picked up its first conference win of the year by defeating Indiana South Bend 8-1 Saturday afternoon.
The Bees swept the three doubles matches and won five of six singles matches in improving to 2-16 overall and 1-3 in the CCAC.
After teaming for an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles, Tom Greenwood and Jon Kagan each was pushed to three sets in singles play. Greenwood prevailed 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 at No. 1 while Kagan was victorious in a third-set super-tiebreaker 6-3, 5-7, 10-6.
The other three singles wins all came in straight sets. Michael Allee won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 singles, Daniel Rohlf dropped just two games in his 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5 and Matt Zuccato earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 6.
Bradley Wheeler was the lone Bee to fall in singles. He dropped a 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 10-7 decision at No. 3.
Wheeler and Jake Temple won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles and Allee and Zuccato won by a matching score at No. 3 doubles.
SAU will host No. 3 Cardinal Stritch next Saturday.
