Women's tennis team drops 7-2 Contest to Asbury University
Lexington, KY – The Bearcats dropped a tough match to the Asbury University (RV), 7-2.
Brescia played better than it had in previous matches during doubles play but Asbury ultimately captured 2 doubles points from 3 with an 8-1 win at the No.2 spot and a victory by default at the No.3. Only Hannah-Joy Simms and Eleni Stravolemos won their match against Giovana Kelm and Kendall Jablonowski 6-3.
Asbury quickly extended its lead to 3-1 when Leander defeated Sierra Thompson in straight sets, 6-0 6-0. Lerma and Jablonowski at the No.3 and No.4 positions defeated Mazvita Ngorosha 6-2 6-1 and Danielle Mattis 6-2 6-0 respectively. Kelm beat Eleni Stravolemos in straight sets 6-3 6-1 and increased Asbury's lead to 6-1. Hannah-Joy Simms's win was the lone point for Bearcats in singles, 6-2 7-5.
The Women's Tennis team will travel to Richmond, Indiana on April 6th to play against IU East.
