[Men's Tennis] ONU takes down Holy Cross, 6-3

SOUTH BEND, Indiana -- The Olivet Nazarene University men's tennis team continued their solid play, winning their fourth consecutive match against Holy Cross College on Friday afternoon by a score of 6-3. Playing at the University of Notre Dame, the Tigers found themselves down 2-1 after doubles play thanks to solid play from the Saints. Alex Verdu Arques and Tyler Cannon won their match at two doubles 8-3, while the one doubles team of Francisco Faria and Jose Castro fell in a tiebreaker, 9-8. Luke Fleming and Jon Merki dropped an 8-3 decision at three doubles. ONU would rely on their strength in singles play to claim five of the six matches. Castro, Verdu Arques, Faria, Cannon, and Merki all won in straight sets to give the Tigers the 6-3 win as a team. By virtue of their win, ONU remains in second play in the CCAC standings.
