[Men's Tennis] Tennis team drops two duals at Wartburg

St. Ambrose dropped a pair of non-conference duals at Wartburg Saturday afternoon. The Bees fell to Simpson 6-3 before falling to host Wartburg 7-2.

SAU won three of the six doubles matches on the afternoon. Against Simpson, Bradley Wheeler and Jake Temple teamed for an 8-7 (7-5) win at No. 2 doubles and Michael Allee and Matt Zuccato won 8-3 at No. 3.

Zuccato was the lone singles winner against the Storm. He earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the No. 6 spot. Allee fell  6-3, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 2 singles and Wheeler extended his match at No. 3 singles to a third-set super-tiebreaker before losing 6-3, 4-6, 10-6.

Allee and Zuccato also won at No. 3 doubles - an 8-4 decision - in the loss to Wartburg. Zuccato also picked up another singles win, defeating his opponent 4-6, 6-0, 10-8 at No. 6. Daniel Rohlf dropped a competitive 6-3, 6-4 match at No. 4 singles.

St. Ambrose returns to CCAC action next Saturday at Indiana South Bend.
