[Men's Tennis] Men's Tennis Blanks Saint Katherine

RAMONA, Calif. – The SDC men's tennis team enjoyed their first match at home in the 2019 season as they defeated Saint Katherine 7-0 on Tuesday.

With the win, the Hawks move to 1-1 on the season and sit at No. 25 in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll.

At No. 1 Doubles, David Samardzija and German Ziella powered through a tough test to win 8-6. Innocent Tidmane and Phillipp Gleich breezed to an 8-0 win giving the Hawks the first two points of the match.

In singles, Samardzija against was pitted with a tough matchup. He eventually prevailed with a 6-4, 6-4 win. No other singles match exceeded two points from Saint Katherine as the Hawks shut the door against the first year program.

The Hawks will travel to OUAZ and Arizona Christian in their first conference matches of the season this weekend.
