[Men's Tennis] SAU opens spring schedule by taking down Dubuque 9-0
St. Ambrose began the spring portion of its schedule with a pair of duals in Dubuque, Iowa, Saturday afternoon.
The Bees fell to St. Thomas 8-1 before ending the trip with a 9-0 win over Dubuque. SAU is now 1-2 on the year.
In the victory over Dubuque, four Bees won singles matches in straight sets. Daniel Rohlf led the charge with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. Jake Temple dropped just two games in his 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5. Bradley Wheeler won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Michael Allee earned a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 3.
Tom Greenwood dropped his opening set at No. 1 singles before rebounding for a 2-6, 6-4, 10-4 win that was extended to a third-set super-tiebreaker.
Matt Zuccato won by forfeit at No. 6 singles.
Greenwood and Wheeler picked up an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles while Allee and Temple were victorious 8-1 at No. 2. Rohlf and Zuccato earned a forfeit victory at the No. 3 spot.
Greenwood was SAU's lone winner in the dual vs. St. Thomas, taking his No. 1 singles match 6-2, 7-5.
St. Ambrose will visit Central next Saturday.
