[Tennis] Tennis opens fall season

Georgetown, Ky. – Montreat's men's and women's tennis teams opened their fall season last week as they competed at the ITA Regional Championships in Georgetown, Ky. on Sept. 20-21. Lulu Beary, Cierra Hunter, Hayley Taylor and Emily Wells represented the Cavs in the women's bracket, while the men's bracket was represented by Leo Lucero, Lorward Choi, David Garcia, Jackson Plyler, Jacob Summerville and Ben Herman.

The Cavs were led by first-year head coach Jim Lavender, along with first-year graduate assistant Allison Corfield.

In their first tournament of the season, the Cavs took the opportunity to gain experience in battling against a tough pool of top players in attendance. "Our players have improved tremendously over the past month, and we look forward to the remaining fall season and upcoming spring season," said Coach Lavender and Coach Corfield.
