Watch Live On Sunday: De Minaur, Evans Set Nottingham Final

0

It is the largest public tennis facility in Great Britain and this week the Nottingham Tennis Centre plays host to one of the most prestigious ATP Challenger Tour events on the calendar.

The Nature Valley Open in Nottingham is the middle event of the three-tournament grass-court swing on the circuit. Last week, Aussie teen Alex de Minaur reached the final in Surbiton and this week the #NextGenATP star is thriving on the surface once again, appearing in his second straight championship match.

The pursuit of a first Challenger title continues for De Minaur, with the 19-year-old bidding for his maiden trophy in what will be his fifth final appearance. But the Aussie will be buoyed by a dominant 8-1 mark on grass this year and is coming off an impressive 6-2, 6-4 victory over Ilya Ivashka in Saturday's semi-finals. De Minaur, who broke into the Top 100 of the ATP Rankings thanks to his run in Surbiton, would also move up to fifth in the ATP Race To Milan with a victory on Sunday.

Opposing the surging teenager will be Great Britain's own Daniel Evans, who considers Nottingham a second home. Having trained for many years at the tennis centre, Evans will turn to the partisan crowd for support on Sunday. The 28-year-old is also in top form entering the title match, posting a 10-1 record on grass including a semi-final run as a qualifier in Surbiton. Appearing in his 10th Challenger final, he is seeking his first crown on home soil since 2009, when he won his maiden title on the island of Jersey.

Watch live on Sunday following the women's doubles final (play starts 11am BST/6am EST)...
