[Women's Tennis] Cumberlands' Season Concludes at NAIA Tournament

Mobile, AL – Making their second straight trip to the NAIA National Tournament, the UC women's tennis team put up a valiant effort but it wasn't enough as they fell to 14th-seed SCAD 9-0 in the opening round Tuesday morning at the Mobile Tennis Center. With the win the Bees improve to 11-5, while the Patriots finish the season 10-11.

SCAD jumped out to quick 1-0 lead with an 8-1 win at #2 doubles.  At #1 doubles, the team of Jaclyn Jewell and Tomomi Nagao traded points to start the match before ultimately falling 8-6.  Denee Lyttle partnered with Luka Lyttle battled Julia Albuquerque and Nicole Katzarkov but fell 9-7 giving the Bees a 3-0 lead.
