[Men's Tennis] Men's Tennis Upended by Westmont

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — A win and the SDC men's tennis team would share a GSAC Regular season title with Arizona Christian. A loss gives them a No. 2 seed in the GSAC Tournament.

The Warriors defeated the Hawks 7-2 on Saturday to show SDC where they will be in the conference tournament, preventing them from being co-champs.

The loss drops SDC to 8-5 on the season and 4-2 in conference play. Westmont improved to 7-8 and 3-3 respectively.

Westmont swept the doubles play but the matches were close for the Hawks. David Samardzija and Alonso Tellez forced a playoff, dropping 9-8 (7-5).

Tellez won his No. 1 Singles match in three sets. He won 3-6, 7-6 (8-6), 10-5.

Innocent Tidimane won in three sets as well in the No. 4 slot winning 6-3, 6-7 (3-7) 10-5.

The Hawks are the No. 2 seed in the GSAC Tournament which will be played Thursday and Friday at Indian Wells Tennis Garden starting at noon.
