[Men's Tennis] Chris Smith Wins at First Singles but Mechanics Fall
Thursday afternoon was a rematch of the match just two days prior between Penn State Brandywine and Williamson. While the Mechanics would once again fall to their four-year college neighbors from five minutes down the road, there was one big difference for Williamson this time around. Williamson First singles player Chris Smith (JR/Tullahoma, TN) rallied from a set down to gain a point for Williamson in their 8-1 loss. That in itself was an improvement for Williamson, who two days earlier lost the Lions, 9-0.
Smith was down a set to start his match, as he fell 6-1 in the opening set. He then rallied in a big way to take the second set, 6-2. He and his opponent then battled to a third set tiebreaker, which Smith dominated, 10-4, to take the win and give Williamson its lone point.
Williamson falls to 0-3 on the year and will next host Bucks County College on Saturday at 10:00 A.M.
