[Women's Tennis] Tennis Drops 5-4 Decision to Columbia College

MONTREAT, N.C. – The Cavaliers women's tennis team fell to Columbia College on Tuesday by the narrowest of margins as they dropped a 5-4 decision.

"This was a tough loss for the women. We went into singles up 2-1 for the first time this year, but we fell just short. Columbia played the big points a little smarter than we did today and that made all the difference," said Cavaliers' head coach Andrew Cobb

Cavs (2-16, 0-7) highlights from the match included Elizabeth Beary and Hayley Taylor combining to defeat Andrea Dimitrijevic and Madyson Murphy at first doubles (8-5). Beary later captured the win at first singles by defeating Dimitrijevic (6-3, 6-1).

Katie Dillon and Emily Wells captured the win at third doubles over Bethany Frazier and Rebecca Ravago (8-2). Dillon went on to take sixth singles with a commanding (6-1, 6-0) win.over Ravago.
