[Men's Tennis] No. 13 Men's Tennis Upset No. 10 Arizona Christian

SAN DIEGO — Looking to avenge their only GSAC loss of the season, the No. 13 Men's Tennis team upset No. 10 Arizona Christian Saturday 6-3.

The win improves the Hawks to 6-5 on the season and 3-1 in conference. The Firestorm fall to 13-5 and 3-1 respectively.

SDC won 4-of-6 singles matches. No. 1 Singles between Ailaksandr Meliuk went the distance with Meliuk winning 5-7, 6-4, 6-2. David Samardzija also went 3-sets as he won No. 3 Singles by a score of 6-1, 3-6, 6-1. Innocent Tidimane also won his singles match in 3-sets. He defeated Scott Wheeler at No. 5 Singles 6-0, 2-6, 6-2.

The Hawks captured two points in doubles. Meliuk and Carl Lindqvist-Nilsson won at No. 1 Doubles 8-6. Tidimane and Nick Bell won 9-8 (7-4) at No. 3 Doubles.

SDC will be back on the court in a non-conference tilt against Merrimack College on Tuesday.
