[Women's Tennis] Women's Tennis Grabs First Win, Battles Stevenson in Loss
The Montreat Cavaliers women's tennis team traveled to Macon, Georgia, on Thursday and grabbed a key first win of the spring season when they defeated the Wesleyan College Wolves, 5-4.
The first doubles tandem of Elizabeth Beary and Hayley Taylor (JR/Marion, NC) fought back from a 5-2 deficit to win 8-6 and get the match started auspiciously for Montreat.
"The players stepped on the court ready today, especially in doubles. It alsway helps going up 3-0, and we had Katie and Lulu step up big time and take two of the singles matches. It was a great confidence booster," said head coach Andrew Cobb.
