[Women's Tennis] No. 12 SDC Defeats Colorado Mesa 6-3

SAN DIEGO — The SDC women's tennis team took four of six singles matches from Colorado Mesa and grabbed two from doubles as they defeated Colorado Mesa 6-3 on Thursday.

The win gives the Hawks a 5-4 record on the season.

SDC won No. 1-4 singles and No. 1 and 2 doubles.

Sarah Schaerer and Aleksandra Emelianova shared the same 6-3, 7-6 score in their singles matches. Sarah Urbanek defeated Emily Beckley 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 Singles. Nadine Geschke was victorious over her No. 4 Singles opponent 6-2, 6-3.

Needing only one of the two remaining doubles matches, the Hawks got both. Schaerer and Emelianova were able to win at No. 2 Doubles 8-2 for the win.

The Hawks will get five days off before they host Hawaii-Hilo at UCSD on March 20.
