[Women's Tennis] Women's Tennis Looks to Rebound on Thursday

After dropping their first two matches of the PTR Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head, South Carolina, the Montreat Cavaliers women's tennis team will head to Macon, Georgia on Thursday to face Wesleyan College.  

On Sunday, playing in their first game of the festival, Montreat fell in a close 5-4 match with the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors. On Monday, they dropped a decision to Indiana University East, 9-0.

"We had four matches against Wisconsin Lutheran that we dropped in a 10-pt tiebreak after winning the first set (3rd, 4th, 5th singles). Line 5 came back from a 4-1 deficit to win the first set and line 6 broke serve at 5-5 and ended up serving for the set and winning, 7-5," said head coach Andrew Cobb.

"The players left it all on the court today. We had matches that could go either way and we forced Wisconsin Lutheran to raise their level to win those lines," said Cobb. "We had errors at the wrong times in the matches, but now they know how they need to play against Welseyan and Stevenson at the end of the week."

Katie Dillon, who also plays basketball for Montreat, won her doubles match against Wisconsin Lutheran in tandem with Emily Wells, and then went on to win her singles match in straight sets.
