[Tennis] Jensen Resigns as SDC Tennis Coach, Bodor Named Interim

SANTEE, Calif. – San Diego Christian men's and women's tennis coach Priscilla Jensen has announced her resignation, effective March 1.

Jensen has accepted the position of head women's tennis coach at Fresno Pacific University.

"We want to thank Priscilla's hard work with building the tennis programs from nothing into nationally ranked teams year after year," SDC Athletic Director Carolyn Peters said. "Her hard work and dedication to SDC will be truly missed."

Jensen was the first coach in SDC tennis history, which started in 2014. She took the men's tennis team to the NAIA National Tournament its first year and ended with a national ranking of eight. The men's team was ranked as high as sixth to start the 2017 season.

Last year, the women's tennis team was ranked for the first time in program history and reached as high as fifth in the NAIA and earned their first berth into the NAIA National Tournament.

In four seasons with the Hawks, Jensen has an overall record of 31-22 as the men's coach and a 27-27 record as the women's coach. She has coached two conference championship teams and produced 24 All-Americans. San Diego Christian claimed the GSAC Player of the Year on both sides, men's and women's and the men's GSAC Player of the Year in 2016.

The Hawks have also demonstrated success away from the court under Jensen's direction, claiming three NAIA Champions of Character Awards and an ITA Community Service & Outreach Award. Academically, Jensen's teams have received 10 ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, while the women's program has claimed the highest team GPA in the department in each of the last three years.

Assistant coach Jim Bodor has been named interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

"We appreciate Jim for stepping up as interim coach and finishing the season for the tennis programs," Peters said.

Bodor has been the assistant coach for both teams since the 2017 season.

"It was an honor to build the men's and women's tennis team four years ago and I am happy I could get the program started to where it is today," Jensen said. "The players will finish strong and carry on the Hawk torch knowing that I will continue to pray and support them."
