[Men's Tennis] Bees get first win of year by taking down Knox

St. Ambrose took five of the six singles matches and swept doubles play to defeat Knox 8-1 Saturday in Galesburg, Ill.

All five singles wins came in straight sets. Tom Greenwood won his match at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-2. Michael Allee (No. 3) and Colin Stiefer (No. 5) each lost just two games in their victories. Daniel Rohlf earned a 6-2, 6-2 decision at No. 4 singles and Dan DaLuga picked up a 6-4, 6-1 at No. 6.

The Bees also dominated doubles.

Greenwood and Jake Anderson paired for an 8-6 win at No. 1. Allee and Matt Zuccato won 8-3 at No. 2 and Bradley Wheeler and Jake Temple won 8-1 at No. 3.

Later in the day, SAU fell to Greenville 8-1.

Greenwood and Anderson's 9-8 (7-4) win at No. 1 doubles was the lone Bees' point.

St. Ambrose, now 1-9 on the year, will host Purdue Northwest and Iowa Central Saturdayat the QC Tennis Club in Moline, Ill.
