[Men's Tennis] NCAA Div. III and No. 2 Claremont-Mudd Tops Hawks 7-2

CLAREMONT, Calif. — Facing the No. 2 team in the NCAA Div. III, the Hawks were able to steal some points away but fell to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 7-2 on Thursday.

The loss drops the Hawks to 2-2 on the season while CMS improved to 3-0.

CMS took all doubles matches but David Samardzjia and Alonso Tellez came the closest with an 8-6 defeat in No. 1 Doubles.

Tellez was able to win his singles match at the No. 3 position. He won 6-4, 6-2 over Oscar Burney. The other point came from Innocent Tidimane at No. 4 Singles with a 6-4, 6-4 win.

The Hawks are back on the court against No. 14 Westmont on Saturday. First serve is scheduled for noon at the Lake Murray Tennis Center.
