[Men's Tennis] Men's Tennis Wins GSAC Opener against Hope International

FULLERTON, Calif. — The No. 12 SDC men's tennis team started off GSAC play on the right foot defeating Hope International 8-1 on Saturday.

 

The win improves their record to 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference.

 

The Royals were the first to win a match. Their No. 1 Doubles team defeated Meliuk and Tidimane 8-3. SDC came back strong with the winners in No. 2 and No. 3 Doubles. Samarddzija and Tellez won a barn-burner 9-8 match after Lindqvist-Nilsson and Ziella won their No. 3 Match 8-4.

 

SDC swept singles play and only had one match be tight. Meliuk defeated Kyle Rae 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 for the win at No. 1 Singles.

 

The Hawks will take on Concordia on Wednesday at the Lake Murray Tennis Club.
