[Women's Tennis] No. 8 Hawks Dropped By Point Loma 8-1

SAN DIEGO – Just like the men's tennis team the day before, the SDC women's tennis team captured a doubles match but fell the rest as the Hawks dropped to the Sea Lions 8-1.

PLNU ranks seventh in NCAA Div. II while the Hawks rank eighth in NAIA.

The loss evens the Hawks record to 1-1 on the season.

Sarah Schaerer and Sarah Urbanek won their No. 1 Doubles match in 8-6 fashion. Aleksandra Emelianova and Nadine Geschke fell in No. 2 Doubles 8-6 and Miriam Boeta/Paula Vazquez lost 8-1 at No. 3.

Two singles matches went the distance. Urbanek lost 6-3, 4-6, 10-4 at No. 2 singles and Geschke won the first set 7-6 before falling 6-3, 10-5.

SDC will open up GSAC play on Saturday against Hope International.
