In the second ATP Challenger Tour tournament of his comeback, former World No. 4 Kei Nishikori has advanced to the quarter-finals of the RBC Tennis Championships of Dallas after a tough two-hour battle with German Matthias Bachinger Wednesday night. Nishikori rallied from a set down to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. He will now play German lucky loser Dominik Koepfer.

"It was a really tough match tonight," said Nishikori. "I started a bit slow. I was missing so many first serves and that cost me the set. I started coming back and playing much better in the second set and the last few games were almost perfect. I'm happy to finish like that. I got some rhythm at the end and some free points on my serve and that helped me a little bit. It has been fun on the court and this is good preparation for me for New York and Acapulco. I hope I can have a couple more matches here."
