The two women’s semifinals will begin around 10 p.m. In the first, Wozniacki, the second seed, will be taking on Elise Mertens, an unseeded player. Wozniacki is coming off a win over the tough Carla Suarez Navarro in the quarterfinals, and before that, bested 19th seed Magdalena Rybarikova in straight sets.

After that, Halep, the top seed, will face Angelique Kerber, the No. 21 seed. Halep is coming off an impressive straight-set victory over Karolina Pliskova, the women’s sixth seed. Kerber bounced Madison Keys, the 17th-seeded American, in her quarterfinal matchup, also in straight sets.

Cilic is the sixth seed while Edmund is an unseeded player. Cilic bested Rafael Nadal, the top seed, in the quarterfinals. Nadal had to retire with an injury. Edmund earned a huge win over third seed Grigor Dimitrov, and is riding a ton of momentum.
