[Women's Tennis] Arnold Wins, Genovese Places 2nd at The Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational

Facing a field of major NCAA programs, Tyler Junior College's Maria Genovese (Shishkina) entered the tournament as the #1 seed and Tamara Arnold as the #3 seed.  Genovese's path to the finals tallied wins against players from Nebraska (Vasanti Shinde), Arkansas (Tatum Rice, Jackie Carr), and Abilene Christian (Lucille Pothier-#7) while Arnold's path went through players from Texas A&M (Riley McQuaid), Nebraska (Brianna Lashway), Texas Tech (Lana Rush-#5), and Arkansas (Natsuho Arakawa-#2).

In the finals round, Arnold defeated Genovese 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 to claim The Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational Women's Singles Championship.
