The Latest: US Open changes schedule for expected rain
NEW YORK (AP) — The Latest on the U.S. Open, the year's last Grand Slam tennis tournament (all times local):___9 p.m.
The U.S. Open's schedule is being adjusted because of a forecast calling for rain.
There will be no men's doubles, mixed doubles or junior matches played Wednesday.
The four remaining singles quarterfinals — two men's and two women's — will be played in Arthur Ashe Stadium, as planned. That is the tournament's only court with a retractable roof.
Three women's doubles matches will be on the schedule at the Grandstand arena.___8:50 p.m.
Venus Williams and Petra Kvitova are heading to a third set in their U.S. Open quarterfinal.
Williams grabbed the opening set 6-3. Kvitova took the second by the same score.
