[Women's Tennis] Women's tennis releases fall schedule

Following last year's 6-13 record, the Montreat College women's tennis team looks forward to taking on teams from the surrounding area during this year's fall play.

This year's fall schedule, which can be viewed here, is set to challenge the Cavaliers and features matches against NCAA Division II and Division III teams. Head coach Andrew Cobb welcomes back six returners from last year's 6-13 team.

The schedule starts out in Kentucky over Labor Day weekend with a match at Kentucky Wesleyan College on Sept. 3 and a match at Midway University on Sept. 4. The following weekend, the Cavaliers will host Covenant College on Sept. 8 for the first home match of the fall season. Oct 1st, the Cavaliers will participate in a tri-match against both Maryville and Johnson University at Maryville College in Tennessee. On Oct. 4th, the Cavs will travel to Brevard College to take on the Tornados. Later on that same week, Montreat will travel to Salem College on Oct. 6th and host UVA-Wise the following day, Oct. 7th, for the last home match of the fall season.  

"I'm very excited for this fall schedule," head coach Andrew Cobb said. "Welcoming back six returners, plus three new recruits, puts us in a great place for these upcoming matches. The players are ready to dig deep and set the bar higher than last year and with this schedule they have a chance to start off in the right direction."
