DOHA, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Erika Fairweather has etched her name in New Zealand's sports history by claiming the nation's first-ever swimming world title at the World Aquatics Championships.

The triumph unfolded on Sunday night, as Fairweather showcased her prowess in the women's 400m freestyle event. The 20-year-old surged towards the finish line, touching the wall in a time of three minutes and 59.44 seconds.
