LaLiga goes in harder and Fastly on anti-piracy protection
April 10 – LaLiga has stepped up its anti-piracy efforts with a deepened collaboration with US-base cloud computing firm Fastly, as the Spanish top flight seeks the ultimate solution to the illegal streaming impacting its broadcast rights.
The partnership will centre on the development of targeted detection tools designed to identify and disrupt unauthorised broadcasts in real time. The league estimates piracy costs its clubs between $700-800 million annually.
