FIFA’s disciplinary body calls for ‘severe’ sanctions on Israel, but then issues a small fine and tells them to put a banner up
March 20 – Following a disciplinary investigation, FIFA have fined the Israeli FA (IFA) CHF 150,000 and demanded, as part of a prevention plan, that the Israelis unfurl a banner with the words ‘football unites the world’ at their next three home matches.
In a statement on Thursday, FIFA said that IFA must spend one third of the fine “towards the implementation of a comprehensive plan to ensure action against discrimination and to prevent repeated incidents,
