Cindy Parlow Cone set to run opposed for U.S. Soccer Federation President
January 29 – A U.S. Soccer Federation spokesperson confirmed to The Athletic that Cindy Parlow Cone is running unopposed for a second full term as president of the U.S. governing body.
Parlow Cone will be the only name on the ballot at the federation’s upcoming annual general meeting. After two consecutive elections that featured contested races, the absence of challengers is striking and, perhaps, revealing.
The incumbent declared her intention to run again last winter.
