‘Wellmaker vs. O’Malley’: Pros react to Malcolm Wellmaker’s show-stealing knockout at UFC Atlanta
Malcolm Wellmaker has the MMA world watching him right now.
The undefeated bantamweight kept his perfect record intact in spectacular fashion, with a one-punch knockout of Kris Moutinho at UFC Atlanta on Saturday. Wellmaker has now won both of his UFC appearances via devastating—and stylish—KOs.
Just three years into his pro MMA career, Wellmaker has already notched 10 victories with six of those wins coming by way of knockout and two by submission. The 31-year-old scored a walk-off KO over Cameron Saaiman in his octagon debut this past April. To say his future looks bright would be an understatement.
The pros agree as they were unanimous in their praise for the Georgia native, with Terrance McKinney saying he’s ready for a fight with former bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley, and longtime UFC standouts Henry Cejudo and Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson anointing him as a star.
