Arman Tsarukyan fires back at ‘clown’ Paddy Pimblett over remarks

Paddy Pimblett and Arman Tsarukyan could be setting up a future fight.

This Saturday, Pimblett returns to the octagon against Michael Chandler in the five-round co-main event of UFC 314. It’s the biggest fight of Pimblett’s career thus far, and a victory would move him into the UFC’s lightweight Top 10. And once he’s there, it appears that Pimblett has beef with the man currently ranked No. 1, Arman Tsarukyan.

“The old guard of the lightweight division, they’re all on the way out,” Pimblett said on the Full Send podcast. “... In the next two or three years, the Top 10 is going to look completely different. The only person in the Top 10 who is under 35 that I can think of is Arman Tsarukyan. He’s just a little posh boy who’s had everything handed to him on a silver platter by his dad. He’s a little bitch-ass. That’s what you are, Arman. A little bitch boy.”

“He was doing videos where he flips forward on his neck, then he’s saying that he’s got a bad back. Dana said — Dana shot him down in that interview. That’s heavy. You don’t want the boss saying that about you because he got asked if Arman is still No. 1. He was like, ‘No, he’s going to have to go back to the drawing board.’ ...

“Basically, Arman, you shit your pants. You farted and followed through, and now there’s shit coming down your leg.”

Tsarukyan was supposed to challenge lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in the main event of UFC 311 back in January until he pulled out of the fight the day before. Instead, Renato Moicano stepped in on short notice, and UFC CEO Dana White said Tsarukyan would have to earn his title shot again. Tsarukyan has yet to be booked since then, but after hearing Pimblett’s comments, it appears the No. 1 ranked lightweight is ready to settle things with Pimblett, should he get past Chandler this weekend.

“Says the guy who got the easiest path to the top in UFC just because he’s got a funny accent and budget Beatles haircut. I dare you to call me out if you win and we will see who will shit his pants in the octagon when we meet, clown.”

UFC 314 takes place this Saturday at the Kaseya Center in Miami, and is headlined by a vacant featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes.
