Mike Perry claims Misfits offered him April MMA fight with Dillon Danis
Mike Perry says he may have an MMA fight lined up, and it could happen in the next few weeks.
“KSI is out, yeah, Dillon Danis wants to fight MMA,” Perry said on The Ariel Helwani Show. “I’m saying yes, but we have to see what Mams [Taylor] is coming up over there in Misfits.
“And they’re changing it completely because he was supposed to fight KSI in boxing. ... Looks like the date has changed a little bit but might not be too far away. ... So I said yes to fighting Dillon Danis in MMA, but they’ve got to come correct.”
Perry hasn’t competed since a boxing loss to Jake Paul in July, and hasn’t fought for BKFC in nearly a year after stopping Thiago Alves in just 60 seconds at KnuckleMania 4.
Danis, however, was slated to box KSI this past weekend at Misfits Boxing 21, but KSI was forced to withdraw due to illness — which postponed the entire boxing event. Danis is scheduled to face Tony Ferguson under the GFL banner on May 29 in Los Angeles, the promotion officially announced on Monday.
“Maybe he doesn’t want to risk that fight, and it depends on if BKFC wants to risk anything,” Perry said. “Danis is going to try and grab my foot, and I’m going to try and soccer kick him in the face. ... It would be in April.
“I’ll just stop them takedowns. He’s going to have to pull guard, and I’ve got some ground and pound, too. Let’s do it.”
