Dirty Boxing results: Andrei Arlovski opens up nasty cut on Terrance Hodges to earn stoppage win

0 8

Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski is back in the win column for the first time in nearly three years.

Arlovski faced Terrance Hodges in the co-main event of Dirty Boxing 1 on Saturday night at The Hangar in Miami in his first bout since parting ways with the UFC this past June following a split decision loss to Martin Buday at UFC 303. The 46-year-old landed a pair of vicious elbows to open up a nasty cut on the face of Hodges, which led to the doctor stepping in to stop the bout at 2:00 of the second round.

Check out the shot that stopped the fight below.

“The Pitbull” used his experience early and took his time, waiting for Hodges to come to him. It was very clinch heavy with Hodges’ aggression, but Arlovski was able to throw an elbow. Hodges was landing shots of his own, going to the body a bit, but when Arlovski was in space, he would land his jab consistently. Arlovski ended the round with a good flurry of elbows and punches.

In the second round, Arlovski opened things up a bit and opened up a nasty cut on Hodges. The doctor took a look at it and called the fight.

Arlovski snaps a four-fight losing streak with his first bout under the Dirty Boxing banner. He is expected to make his GFL debut later this year as a member of the Los Angeles team.
