What do Mike Tyson's tattoos mean (including the 1 on his face)? Here's the breakdown.
Mike Tyson made plenty of headlines when he got that now-infamous tattoo on his face, but he’s got plenty of other ink elsewhere on his body.
In fact, the tattoos have their own Wikipedia page, which tells you how famous they really are.
So, what’s the deal with them? Glad you asked!
The face tattoo: It’s designed by artist S. Victor Whitwell, who based it on the facial tattoos of the Maori in New Zealand. He has no regrets about it and originally wanted hearts on his face.
The chest tattoo: That’s a portrait of his late daughter, Exodus who died in 2009.
The stomach tattoo: That’s Che Guevara, who was a big leader in the Cuban Revolution.
The other tattoos: Those are faces of tennis legend Arthur Ashe and late leader of the Chinese communist party Mao Zedong.
