Game 2 of the WNBA Finals was precisely what the Liberty needed to get back on track.

After a tumultuous end to Game 1, New York found itself in familiar territory as the Minnesota Lynx erased a 16-point lead, bringing it down to as little as two points. Minnesota was within arm’s length for several minutes, likely making fans in the building uneasy.

However, as the fourth quarter tolled on, a five-minute Lynx scoring drought and ginormous effort from Betnijah Laney-Hamilton, Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart ― shoutout to Stewie’s seven steals! ― helped extend the Liberty’s lead. Then, a dagger 3-point shot from rookie Leonie Fiebich closed the door and helped tie the series at 1-1.
