Casey O’Neill vs. Tereza Bleda in the works for UFC 305 in Perth

Casey O’Neill will look to get back on track when she competes in her home country.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a flyweight matchup between O’Neill and Tereza Bleda is in the works for UFC 305, which takes place Aug. 18 at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. Verbal agreements are in place for the 125-pound matchup.

After a 9-0 start to her pro career — which includes winning her first four octagon appearances — O’Neill now enters the bout on a two-fight losing streak. “King” went 0-2 in 2023, which included a decision loss to one-time title challenger Jennifer Maia at UFC 286, and losing via submission to Ariane Lipski at UFC 296 this past December. The 26-year-old has three stoppage wins in the UFC.

Bleda makes her third promotional appearance and enters the bout on the heels of her first UFC victory. The 22-year-old was stopped by Natalia Silva in her promotional debut in November 2022, but earned a unanimous decision victory in her most recent outing over Gabriella Fernandes at UFC Vegas 75 in June 2023.
