Sheymon Moraes is no longer a UFC fighter.

The Brazilian featherweight on Thursday announced via Instagram that he’s been released by the industry-leader after five fights.

”Hey guys, unfortunately I’m no longer part of UFC anymore,” he wrote. “But that’s it, life goes on!”

Moraes ends his UFC run with a 2-3 record that includes back-to-back losses. Most recently, he suffered a first-round knockout to Andre Fili in July at UFC Sacramento.

The 28-year-old standout signed with the UFC after a run in the WSOF (now rebranded as PFL), where he fought unsuccessfully for the title then held by current UFC contender Marlon Moraes.

In his octagon debut, Sheymon Moraes had the unenviable task of facing Zabit Magomedsharipov and suffered a third-round submission loss. But he then rebounded with a pair of wins over Matt Sayles and Julio Arce.

Moraes didn’t give any details as far as his next career move.
