Get live NHL Stanley Cup playoff updates, news and analysis during Game 1 of the Sharks’ second-round series against the Colorado Avalanche Friday at 7 p.m. from SAP Center.
The Sharks are coming off the most thrilling game in their 28-year history when they stunned the Golden Knights 5-4 in Game 7 on the strength of a four-goal power play, thanks to a five-minute major penalty on Vegas for a hit on Joe Pavelski.
Barclay Goodrow’s overtime goal sealed one of the greatest comebacks in NHL history as the Sharks rallied from a 3-1 series deficit and a 3-0 deficit in Game 7 of the series.
San Jose will have the home ice advantage in this series as well as it takes on an Avalanche team that’s been resting following an upset series win over Calgary in five games. However, the Sharks should come into the series with confidence since they beat Colorado in each of the teams’ three meetings in the regular season.
Game 2 of the best-of-7 series will be Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in San Jose.
