BEIJING, May 12 (Xinhua) -- This April, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to an event commemorating the 55th anniversary of China-U.S. Ping-Pong Diplomacy, recalling the historic 1971 episode often described as "a small ball moving the big globe."
In 1971, a U.S. table tennis team visited Beijing, a breakthrough that thawed more than two decades of estrangement, and helped pave the way for
