Police bust alleged phone-snatching leader after intelligence operation in Accra
A sustained intelligence-led surveillance operation by police has resulted in the arrest of a suspected ringleader of a mobile phone snatching syndicate operating in Accra. The suspect, Joseph Nii Amamu Offei, widely known as Gaza, alias Hero, was first apprehended around Kwame Nkrumah Circle on Saturday, April 4, 2026, and initially taken to the Kaneshie Police Station for interrogation.
